Job Duties

Your responsibilities as a Medical Scribe include the following:

  • Provide medical scribing for Dr. Veda and Neuromuscular Medicine services
  • Scribing includes patient visits and for procedure reports for EMG/EEG/Autonomic testing according to the protocols and procedures provided by MCAM and the Neurologist
  • Demonstrate a customer service minded approach to patient care
  • Works to proactively schedule patients for follow up visits/studies and schedule new patients
  • Will cross-train for front desk duties including patient check-in/check-out and referral triage
  • Provides feedback to providers and the care team regarding quality improvement
  • Dedicated to patient care and will occasionally work long hours if needed
  • Demonstrate patience and empathy when caring for patients
  • Flexible in approach when working with patients with neuromuscular disorders
  • Actively monitors billing and coding functions for the Center
  • Assist in the orientation of clinical and non-clinical staff members
  • Obtain consent to treatment and properly document patient encounters
  • Help to coordinate patient care with physician, nurse, care coordinator, pharmacist and other members of the care team
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) with the proven ability to manage priorities in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Demonstrated ability to establish positive patient/customer rapport and build relationships
  • Strong end-user computer skills 
  • Medical experience required (LPN/MA strongly preferred)

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this position will be commensurate with experience. Participation in the organization’s health insurance plan (including dental and vision insurance), and long term disability insurance are included. MCAM provides fifteen days of paid time off per year plus eleven paid holidays.
