Michelle Armstrong, BS, RCS
Michelle Armstrong serves as a Pediatric Cardiology Sonographer at the Mississippi Center for Advanced Medicine. In this role, Michelle works with Dr. Mattingly to provide echocardiograms for pediatric patients. Prior to joining MCAM, she served as a cardiovascular sonographer at Central Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson Heart Clinic, Precision Ultrasound and Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. Ms. Armstrong holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Mississippi College and is a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International. Michelle is married to Jay and they have two daughters, Ellen Clark, and Mary Cole. They enjoy being outside, traveling, and cheering on the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
Madison Bell, BSN, MPH
Madison Bell works as a Float Nurse at the Mississippi Center for Advanced Medicine. In this position, Madison provides nursing care to all of MCAM’s pediatric subspecialty and maternal fetal medicine services when additional support is needed to deliver quality care to our patients. Ms. Bell received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Mississippi Medical Center and a Master of Public Health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Madison has extensive experience working at children’s hospitals in her career including as a floor nurse at Norton Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky, at Children’s Mercy in Kansas City, Missouri, at Brenner Children’s Hospital in Winston Salem, North Carolina and as a staff nurse in the Children’s of Alabama after hours pediatric clinic. In her spare time, Madison enjoys spending quality time with friends and family, being outdoors and traveling.
Laura Bullock, RTR, RDMS
Laura is a Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonographer at the Mississippi Center for Advanced Medicine and works to provide ultrasounds and care coordination for high-risk obstetrical patients provided in conjunction with Dr. Bean, nursing and front office staff. Laura received her Associates of Arts in Radiologic Technology and certification in Diagnostic Medical Sonography from Hinds Community College, and is a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer as well as a Radiologic Technologist. Ms. Bullock has over seven years of experience as a maternal fetal medicine sonographer at an academic medical center and at the Prenatal Diagnostic Center working with Dr. Ken Perry. She is dedicated to providing the best care and patient experience for both mom and baby. Laura is married to Ricky and they have one son, Lawson. She enjoys spending time with her husband, son and friends and also helping manage their family owned business, Crawfish Shack.
Brandi Dykes, BSN, RN
Brandi serves as the Pediatric and Fetal Cardiology nurse at Mississippi Center for Advanced Medicine and provides clinical and programmatic expertise to this unique patient population. Prior to joining MCAM, Brandi has had experience at four different pediatric healthcare settings including a pediatric medical/surgical floor at Willis-Knighton Health System, Nursery and Neonatal ICU at Terrebonne General Medical Center and the Pediatric ICU at Ochsner Hospital for Children. Brandi has also served as a Pediatric Transplant Coordinator for cardiac and renal patients. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Mississippi University for Women and is passionate about providing the care support and coordination for each patient family.
Christy Everett, BSN
Christy Everett serves as a Float Nurse at Mississippi Center for Advanced Medicine. In this role, Christy routinely works in different functional areas to help cover busy clinical services or assist when another nurse may be out. Christy’s diverse experience includes emergency department experience at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center, the Veteran’s Affairs hospital in Jackson and at Merit Health Madison where she also worked in the intensive care unit. Additionally, Christy has served as a cardiology nurse at Baptist Cardiology and Jackson Heart Clinic. Ms. Everett holds an Associates of Arts degree in Nursing from Hinds Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Mississippi University for Women. Wherever you may find Christy at MCAM on any given day, you can count on her greeting patient families with a warm smile and a willingness to help. Christy is married to Seth and they have two sets of twin daughters, Addison, Morgan, Ava and Evie. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, volunteering at her church’s children’s ministry, spreading the word of Jesus and cheering on the Mississippi State Bulldogs!
Latoya Ferrell, BS
Latoya Ferrell serves as the Director of Neurophysiology at the Mississippi Center for Advanced Medicine and works to provide EEGs, EMGs, autonomic testing and nerve conduction studies provided in conjunction with Dr. Veda. Latoya received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Jackson State University and is certified in Nerve Conduction Studies, Electroencephalography, Longterm Monitoring and Neurological Intraoperative Monitoring. Ms. Ferrell has over fourteen years of experience as a electrodiagnostic technologist. Latoya is married to Kendrick, and they have three sons, Joshua, Caleb, and Aaron. In her spare time, she enjoys participating in church activities, supporting her sons at their football games and spending quality time with her family and friends.
Andy Forbes, RN, BA, MEd
Andy serves as the primary nursing and clinical support leader for infusion patients at MCAM. Andy’s clinical experience includes over twelve years of experience caring for children in an inpatient pediatric hematology, oncology and neurology setting. He has extensive expertise in central line and peripheral IV access and management, and has received numerous commendations from patients for providing extraordinary, compassionate and skillful care to chronically ill children. Before becoming a nurse Andy worked in the non-profit sector designing and implementing education and job training programs for underserved communities in New York City and Chicago. Mr. Forbes holds an Associate’s degree in Nursing from Hinds Community College, a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies and English Literature from Coleg y Brifysgol Abertawe in Wales, United Kingdom and a Master’s Degree in Social Science Education from the University of Georgia. Andy is married to Amy Wiese Forbes, Chair of the History Department at Millsaps College. He and Amy have two children, Alex and Claire. In his spare time, Andy enjoys birding, watching movies, tinkering and figuring out how stuff works.
Morgan Ginn, BSN
Morgan Ginn works as a Neuromuscular Medicine nurse at the Mississippi Center for Advanced Medicine. She has strong Neurology and Pediatrics experience. Before joining the team, Morgan served as a pediatric home health nurse at Hope Healthcare in Jackson and as a staff nurse on the Neurology unit at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. While at Baptist, Morgan was a charge nurse, nurse educator and a preceptor for new nursing hires. Ms. Ginn holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Mississippi Medical Center. She has also completed mission work in Cambodia and is active in Fondren Church. Morgan is married to Josh and they have two sons, Ezra and Eli. She enjoys spending time with family, outdoor activities, and shopping.
Kristi Griffin, BSN
Kristi Griffin serves as a Pediatric Allergy and Immunology nurse at MCAM in Madison. Kristi works in connection with Dr. Rodriguez and the Allergy team to provide patient support, allergy testing and immunotherapy, pulmonary function tests with complete lung volumes, clinical expertise, and asthma education for patients and their families. Ms. Griffin holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from McNeese State University and has several years of experience as a charge nurse in a pediatric setting. Kristi has also spent time on a hospital inpatient unit at St. Dominic’s Hospital. She is passionate about providing the highest quality care and service to children and their families. Kristi is married to, Adam, and they have two children, Addelyn, and Lawson. She enjoys being outdoors with her children and pets and having family movie nights.
Glenda Hernandez, BS
Glenda Hernandez serves as a Medical Scribe at Mississippi Center for Advanced Medicine. In this role, Glenda assists Dr. Veda and the Neuromuscular Medicine team document the patient encounter and plan of care. Ms. Hernandez’s compassionate disposition and dedication to patient care ensures the Neuromuscular clinic and its associated procedures run as smoothly as possible. Glenda received a Bachelor of Science in Forensic Biology and a minor in Chemistry from Western New England University. She has experience as a Research Assistant at Women and Infant’s Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island, and as a Laboratory and Andrology Technician at the New England Cord Blood Bank and New England Cryogenic Center. Glenda is a member of the United States Army Reserve in a Health Services Administration role and is also fluent in both English and Spanish. Glenda enjoys spending time outdoors with her dogs, travelling to visit family, and cheering on the New England Patriots.
Kerri Irby, BSN
Kerri serves as a primary nursing and clinical support leader for infusion patients at MCAM. Kerri’s twenty-year clinical experience includes emergency room and surgical unit staff nurse responsibilities at Baylor Medical Center in Garland, Texas, interventional radiology at Tacoma General Hospital in Tacoma, Washington, student health center experience at Mississippi State University, emergency department experience at St. Dominic’s and Baptist Golden Triangle, and charge nurse experience in interventional radiology at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. Ms. Irby graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing. Kerri takes great pride in putting patients and families first and has expertise in providing comfort and counsel to patient families in difficult situations. In her spare time, Kerri enjoys the outdoors, going to the movies, and spending family time with her husband, Bo, and daughter, Reagan.
Elysia Jackson, BA, BSN
Elysia Jackson serves as a Neuromuscular Medicine nurse working alongside Dr. Veda and the Neuromuscular care team to coordinate care for patients and families. In this role, Elysia works to provide patient education, support and clinical expertise for patients with neuromuscular and autonomic disorders. Ms. Jackson graduated cum laude from Samford University with a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design and cum laude from Mississippi College with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Elysia has extensive neurology nursing experience at St. Dominic Memorial Hospital where she worked as a neurology floor nurse, neurology intensive care unit nurse, and neurosurgery clinic nurse. She also served as an intensive care unit case manager and as the neurology floor nurse manager. She also has experience as a medical/surgical floor nurse at Baptist Medical Center in Yazoo City. Elysia is married to Ramon and they have a daughter Nora, and son, Dean. Elysia enjoys traveling, going to the movies, fishing, party planning and boat riding. Elysia is involved in volunteer organizations and is an active member of First Baptist Church of Madison.
Bill Jennings, BS, RN
Bill Jennings serves as the hematology nurse at MCAM’s new location in Slidell, Louisiana – the Louisiana Center for Advanced Medicine. Bill graduated from University of New Orleans with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and from Our Lady of the Lake College with an Associate Degree in Nursing. In between degree programs, Bill worked as a laboratory technician at Thionville Laboratories where he realized his passion was in patient care. After graduating from nursing school, he became the inpatient pediatric supervisor on a 30-bed pediatric medical-surgical unit at Tulane Hospital for Children and as a hemophilia nurse coordinator at Tulane University School of Medicine. Mr. Jennings has extensive experience in providing nursing care to children and hematology care to patients of all ages. In his spare time, Bill enjoys spending time with his wife, Heather, and three children, Brendan, Ella, and Reese. When not managing three teenagers, Bill is a diehard Saints and LSU fan. Who Dat and Geaux Tigers!
Emily Mann, BSN
Emily Mann serves as a Maternal Fetal Medicine nurse at MCAM in Madison. In this role, Emily works to provides patient education, support and clinical expertise for high-risk obstetrical patients. Ms. Mann holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Mississippi College and has over eight years of experience in well-women’s care, maternal fetal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology and postpartum/gynecology surgery. She has previously served as a maternal fetal medicine nurse for Dr. Ken Perry, and as an obstetrics and gynecology nurse at The Woman’s Clinic and at St. Dominic’s Hospital. Ms. Mann is passionate about providing the best care and patient experience for both mom and baby. In her spare time, Emily enjoys assisting her husband, Brandon, with photography on the weekends and spending time with their sons, Caleb and Carson.
Erin Martin, BSN
Erin’s clinical responsibilities will include caring for pediatric obesity and nutrition patients. She will also oversee clinical research projects at the Center. Her considerable pediatric nursing experience includes general pediatrics, private practice pediatrics, and caring for children with cancer. Erin holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from the University of Southern Mississippi and is a Certified Pediatric Oncology Nurse (CPON). She is an avid CrossFit enthusiast and enjoys spending time with her husband, Lee, daughter, McKinlee, and son, Ryals. Erin is also an identical twin and a zealous reader.
Linnea McMillan, BSN
Linnea McMillan leads the prior authorization department at MCAM with the mission critical objective of ensuring that approvals for patient care activities are smooth and seamless. Linnea also provides nursing support for a variety of clinical departments at MCAM including Neuromuscular and Maternal Fetal Medicine. Linnea has over thirty years of nursing experience and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Ms. McMillan has previously served in both inpatient and outpatient clinical oncology settings and also has broad home health and managed care experience. Linnea enjoys going to the beach with her three children in her spare time.
Braxton Meeks, RN
Braxton Meeks serves as a Clinical Nurse for MCAM in Tupelo and provides patient education, support and clinical expertise for patients with diabetes and endocrine disorders. He will also lead the IV therapy, infusion program and the TrialNet research program. Braxton has experience on inpatient medical and surgical units at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis and at North Mississippi Medical Center including experience as a charge nurse on a pediatric floor. Braxton holds as Associate of Science in Nursing and an Emergency Medical Technician diploma from Northeast Mississippi Community College. In his spare time, Braxton likes to spend time with his wife Kristen and watch SEC football, especially the Ole Miss Rebels.
Swayze Reeves, BSN
Swayze Reeves serves as the primary nursing and care management support for hematology patients including pediatric hematology and lifespan programs for Hemophilia and Sickle Cell Disease. In this role, she works closely with Dr. Pennington and Dr. Sullivan to provide the best possible care for hematology patients. Swayze received her Associate of Arts from Jones County Junior College, a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Mississippi State University and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Swayze has nursing experience in a general pediatric practice and in the well-baby nursery/NICU at Baptist Medical Center both in Montgomery, Alabama and most recently on the Hematology-Oncology/Bone Marrow Transplant Unit at Children’s of Alabama. Swayze, is married to Alex and they have one daughter, Maebri. In her spare time, Swayze enjoys spending time with family, traveling to the beach, deep sea fishing and cheering on the Mississippi State Bulldogs!
Lori Sowell, BS, ARDMS
Lori Sowell serves as a Maternal Fetal Medicine and Fetal Cardiology Sonographer at Mississippi Center for Advanced Medicine. In this role, Lori works to provide ultrasounds for high-risk obstetrical patients and echocardiograms for fetal cardiology patients. Prior to joining MCAM, Lori worked as a general sonographer at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, as a travel sonographer in a variety of roles and locations, and as an Maternal Fetal Medicine sonographer at Massachusetts General Hospital. Lori holds a Bachelor of Health Sciences in Diagnostic Medical Sonography from Baptist College of Health Sciences in Memphis and is certified by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) and by the Fetal Medicine Foundation in Nuchal Translucency. In her spare time, Lori enjoys spending time with her daughter, cooking, and crafting.
Amanda Thibodeaux, RTR, RDMS
Amanda is a Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonographer at the Mississippi Center for Advanced Medicine and works to provide ultrasounds and care coordination for high-risk obstetrical patients provided in conjunction with Dr. Bean, nursing and front office staff. Amanda received her Associates of Arts in Applied Science from Hinds Allied Health Center, her Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Sciences from the University of Mississippi Medical Center and is a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer as well as a Radiologic Technologist. Ms. Thibodeaux has over seven years of experience as a maternal fetal medicine sonographer at an academic medical center and at Mississippi Maternal Fetal Medicine. She is dedicated to providing the best care and patient experience for both mom and baby. Amanda is married to Adam and they have one daughter, Tatum. She enjoys spending time with her family, attending church and sharing the love of Jesus.
