Miranda Bartholomew, LMSW
Miranda Bartholomew serves as a clinical social worker at MCAM’s new location in Slidell, Louisiana – the Louisiana Center for Advanced Medicine. Miranda graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism from Dillard University in New Orleans, Louisiana, a Master of Social Work from Tulane University and has also completed a fellowship in infant mental health from Louisiana State University Health in New Orleans. Miranda is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and has spent the last 16 years serving as a pediatric social worker at Tulane Medical Center. She has extensive experience in supporting children and their families who are coping with chronic illness and other medical problems. Miranda’s kind spirit and gentle disposition put children and their families at ease even during the most difficult of circumstances. In her spare time, Miranda likes writing, gardening and international cuisine.
LeAnne Howard, LCSW
LeAnne Howard is the Director of Human Resources and Care Coordination/Social Work at the Mississippi Center for Advanced Medicine. She provides leadership for Human Resources by working to onboard all new hires at MCAM, overseeing benefits enrollment and MCAM’s HR information system. LeAnne also provides oversight for all Care Coordinators/Social Workers at MCAM. As the social worker for the Hemophilia Treatment Center, LeAnne works alongside the treatment team to coordinate care for hemophilia patients and families. LeAnne received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Mississippi State University and her Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Southern Mississippi. Ms. Howard has over 30 years of experience as a social worker and 25 years of experience in a pediatric clinic setting assisting children and their families who have chronic conditions. LeAnne is an avid Mississippi State football fan, assists in planning and volunteering for Camp Rainbow, is active in her church, and enjoys spending time with her son, Bailey who attends Mississippi State.
Kayla Moriarty, LMSW
Kayla Moriarty serves as the social worker for the Mississippi Center for Advanced Medicine at the Baptist Drive campus. Kayla graduated with a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Mississippi State University and a Maters of Social Work from Jackson State University. In this position, Kayla plays an active and critical role in helping establish a medical home for each patient and enjoys making a positive impact on patient families. She works with patients and their families to provide resources for insurance, college, career planning, school services, and medication assistance programs. Mrs. Moriarty coordinates each patient’s care and works primarily with Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Pediatric Cardiology, Pediatric Endocrinology, Pediatric Obesity Medicine and Nutrition and Maternal Fetal Medicine. Kayla is also helping lead a grant initiative for MCAM that works with providing additional resources to undeserved patients in the community. Kayla routinely goes above and beyond to ensure that each child’s medical and socioeconomic needs are being met. In her free time, Kayla enjoys spending time with her husband, Eamon, their two daughters, and her dog, Nina.
Kristin Meeks, LMSW
Kristin Meeks serves as a Social Worker at the Mississippi Center for Advanced Medicine. In this role, Kristin works with patients and families to coordinate care, provide education and connect them to community resources. Ms. Meeks holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Social Work from Mississippi College and a Master’s of Science in Social Work from the University of Tennessee. Kristin is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and her prior work experience includes working with hospital inpatients regarding discharging planning, resource coordination and post-hospital care plans. She is excited to bring her extensive experience to MCAM and to work with a diverse patient population. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends and her dachshund, Cooper.
Jill Walters, LMSW
Jill Walters serves as a Licensed Master Social Worker and Pediatric Mental Health Therapist at MCAM. In this position, Jill provides an integrative and holistic therapy approach for children, adolescents, and their families experiencing mental health issues, communication challenges, or family conflict. She is well-versed in evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, and parent management training. Mrs. Walters provides an empathetic, upbeat, and relational approach to children and adolescents. Jill is passionate about working with young people to help improve their well-being and overall mental health. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Master of Social Work from Jackson State University. Mrs. Walters' experience includes service to pediatric inpatients and as a Mental Health Therapist at Brentwood Behavioral Healthcare. In her spare time, Jill enjoys spending time outdoors, traveling, and discovering new recipes with her husband, Evan, and their friends and family.
